Z STREET

01/03/11 On Z STREET, we try to help Jews become aware of, and overcome, a painful and cataclysmic Jewish affliction.  You've seen it in others, perhaps you've been infected yourself - it's what makes us lower our voices when we talk about Jewish issues in public, or feel even the tiniest bit uncomfortable when we see someone with a kippah or tzitzit outside their pants.  This works like a vaccine - plunge past the discomfort and demand what is right, without fear that someone will think less of you for demanding the right thing be done for a Jew that you would automatically demand be done for someone in a different category (i.e. a discriminated-against woman or gay or Muslim, etc.)  So here's an opportunity to best that "Jewish malware" that has infected so many.  It is about Jonathan Pollard.  It's powerful, it's factual and it's important.  Watch this, take the suggested action, and pass it on.  Don't be a WWII American Jew. 12/28/10 Our blogger buddy Joe Settler over at the Muqata wrote that Israeli radio reported that approximately 20 Israeli companies have signed contracts for construction work on a new Arab town in the Shomron.  The contract states "no raw materials or services provided by the companies will originate from the 'Occupied Territories.'"  Here's the story. We are awaiting word on whether this means Arab Palestinians cannot participate in the building either. /s/  Of course the boycott is illegal as it violates the Gaza-Jericho Agreement.  Now let's see if there's any enforcement.
